Scope: Applies to all PropertyMesh.ca content, including articles, guides, tools, visuals, emails, and service pages.
Our Mission & Who We Are
PropertyMesh helps Canadians—especially in Ontario—make confident real-estate decisions through accurate, transparent, and useful information. All real-estate content is broker-supervised by Faiza Ahmed (RECO #4791581) through International Realty Firm, Inc. (Brokerage #4799095). You can verify licensing on the RECO Public Register. Editorial decisions are independent of sales, advertising, or lead-generation priorities.
Why This Policy Matters
Because a home is one of the biggest financial and personal decisions you’ll ever make, we take our responsibility to you very seriously. The information we provide can influence high-stakes financial and lifestyle outcomes, so we hold ourselves to rigorous standards of accuracy, clarity, and fairness.
Editorial Independence
- Separation from commercial interests: Our editors and reviewers decide what we cover, how we cover it, and the conclusions we reach. Sales or partnerships cannot override editorial judgment.
- No pay-to-play: We do not sell rankings, positive coverage, or guaranteed placements.
- Clear labelling: If a post is sponsored, paid, or produced with a partner, it will be clearly marked as such at the top of the page and where appropriate throughout.
Our Standards for Quality and Accuracy
- Expert Knowledge. All content is created or reviewed under the supervision of a licensed broker. We rely on regulatory guidance, market board data, and academic research to ground our advice.
- Practical Experience. We draw on real market situations, including transaction timelines, local offer strategies, and neighbourhood details, so the information reflects what buyers and sellers actually face.
- Credible Sources. We cite and link to primary data whenever possible, and when we use outside analysis, we clearly identify it as opinion or commentary.
- Trust and Transparency. We openly disclose conflicts of interest, correct errors, and explain our reasoning so readers can judge for themselves.
Sourcing & Citation
- Primary sources first. Government, regulators, professional bodies, official market releases, and academic literature are our starting point.
- Secondary sources for context. When we use reputable secondary reporting, we verify key figures and offer links for readers to check.
- Linking practice. We link to original data where possible and avoid promotional or manipulative anchor text.
- Attribution. We credit and attribute images, charts, and code as required by their licenses.
Originality & Content Integrity
We are committed to producing content that is genuinely useful, not just a rehash of what’s already available. Articles and guides are written in our own words, based on direct analysis of data, broker oversight, and on-the-ground experience. When we reference outside sources, it’s to add context and value—not to duplicate.
Accuracy, Updates, and Review Cadence
- Pre-publication review. Facts, figures, dates, and claims are checked against cited sources.
- Timestamps. Each page shows a “Last updated” date.
- Scheduled reviews.
- Market snapshots: reviewed monthly as new board data is published.
- Policy or regulatory content: reviewed quarterly or sooner if rules change.
- Evergreen guides: reviewed at least annually.
- Change notes. Material updates may include a short changelog or editor’s note summarizing what changed and why.
Conflicts of Interest & How We’re Paid
- Brokerage revenue. PropertyMesh may earn fees from standard real-estate commissions and, where permitted, may offer alternative pricing (e.g., cashback, 1% or flat-fee options). Editorial content is not tailored to promote any one fee model as universally superior.
- Agent introductions. When we introduce a consumer to a REALTOR®, that introduction is broker-supervised for compliance and quality assurance. The introduction does not guarantee service fit, results, or outcomes.
- Builders and projects. Coverage of new or pre-construction developments is for public interest. Any incentives, marketing relationships, or partner arrangements will be disclosed on the relevant page.
- Affiliates and referrals. If we receive a referral fee or use affiliate links, we disclose that relationship on-page and maintain editorial control over the content.
Advertising & Sponsored Content
- No editorial control for advertisers. Advertisers and sponsors cannot preview, edit, or veto editorial content.
- Clear labels. Sponsored or partner posts will be plainly identified as such at the beginning of the content and, where necessary, reiterated within the page.
- Privacy. Advertising and analytics practices follow our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy law.
How Content Gets Made
- Writers/Researchers draft according to our sourcing standards and house style.
- Subject-matter review is performed under broker supervision for accuracy, risk, and compliance.
- Legal/Compliance QA checks clarity for content touching policy, regulation, or licensing.
- Fact-checker/Copy editor verifies data and ensures neutrality, readability, and Canadian English usage.
- Community input. Where appropriate, we feature user reviews, testimonials, or reader comments to provide real-world perspectives. These are clearly identified as the opinions of individuals, not editorial staff.
- Final sign-off by an editorial lead confirms adherence to this policy before publication.
Use of AI Tools
We may use AI tools to help with tasks such as synthesis, outlines, and grammar. We do not use AI to publish without human oversight. All AI-assisted drafts are reviewed by human editors, fact-checked, and approved under broker supervision prior to publication.
Corrections, Clarifications & Takedowns
- How to request a correction. Email us via the site’s contact page or call 647-881-2164. Include the URL, the exact statement you believe is incorrect, and reliable sources that support your correction.
- Response time. We aim to review credible requests within five business days.
- Correction notes. Substantive errors will be corrected with a dated editor’s note. Minor wording edits and formatting fixes may be updated without a note.
- Copyright and licensing. If you believe your intellectual property is used improperly, contact us with details; we will review promptly and remove or replace materials as appropriate.
Disclaimers (Not Legal/Financial Advice)
Our content is educational and general in nature. It is not legal, financial, tax, or investment advice. Rules and market conditions vary by province, municipality, condo corporation, and builder. Always consult your lawyer, licensed mortgage professional, and a licensed real-estate professional for guidance on your specific circumstances.
Geographic & Data Scope
Unless otherwise stated, our content reflects Ontario practices and terminology. When we publish data, we identify the time period and region and provide source links where feasible. Typical sources include TRREB/RAHB market reports, CMHC and Statistics Canada datasets, and municipal bylaws or public notices.
Diversity, Fairness & Accessibility
We write for a diverse Canadian audience. We avoid stereotypes and reflect cultural, linguistic, and multigenerational realities in housing. We aim for plain language, mobile-friendly layouts, alt text for images, and readable tables and charts. We invite feedback to improve clarity and inclusivity.
Visuals, Charts & Methodology
- Charts and tables identify units, dates, and data sources. Where we model or index figures, we explain the method and any limitations.
- Images. We use a mix of stock photography, properly licensed online images, and AI-generated graphs created from real market data. Whenever possible, we prefer original or directly relevant visuals. Attribution is provided where required, and we avoid edits that could mislead the reader.
- Comparisons and rankings are based on disclosed criteria and transparent reasoning; limitations are stated.
Privacy & User Data
We collect the minimum necessary information to respond to inquiries and provide services. We follow applicable Canadian privacy laws (including PIPEDA). For details on cookies, analytics, and data rights, see our Privacy Policy.
